In addition to serving on the student government, Sara, whose major is political science and who has a double minor in
journalism and economics, is both social chair and publicity chair for her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and she's vice president of finance for the Panhellenic Council.
And she's applied to a number of Allegheny-sponsored internships ranging from working with The New York Times to working for the Department of Homeland Security. Whatever she's doing, Sara knows that both her personal and academic development will be supported.
"Not only do you have all these opportunities here, but you have professors who know you and know what you're up to, and not just your professors, but even professors whose classes I've never taken seem to know me."
The question is, which Sara do they know? Political scientist, journalist, economist, senator, social chair, publicity chair, vice president, campus tour guide, freshman seminar advisor—that's a lot of different hats to wear, but for Sara, they all fit quite nicely: "That's one of the things I love about Allegheny—it's so easy to get involved in the things that matter to you."
