I'm a musician, and a medical student

The demands of medical school haven't stopped Chris Morgan from pursuing his passion for music. "I play guitar in church," says the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine student, "and have set up a live performance night for other LECOM students to show off their musical talents. I really enjoy giving back to people as well, which I think will be very pertinent when I get to practice medicine."

Chris MorganA biology major and religious studies minor at Allegheny, Chris was involved in activities ranging from the Phi Delta Theta fraternity to the Chemii Club. He credits Allegheny with teaching him how to learn new material and interact well with others. In particular, he says, the Senior Project showed him the importance of persistence and dedication. "Even though my experiments didn't always work out how they should have," he says, "it was important to figure out what wasn't working and fix that problem."

The opportunity to develop a variety of interests in college has served Chris well as he prepares to become a physician. "LECOM expects professionalism, academic excellence, and personality," he says. "All of these things are a product of my attending Allegheny."
