Creating A Booking For Equipment

Library patrons within the Allegheny community can create an advanced booking for equipment available from Media Services.

PLEASE NOTE: The" Call No." column will identify the patron group to which the equipment item may be loaned. All bookings must be placed a minimum of 24 hours prior to pick-up. W

To create a booking for a specific item of equipment:

Step 1: From the Pelletier Library's home page click on the "Find Books & More" tab.

Step 2: Click on the "ALLECAT - The Catalog to the Libraries of Allegheny College link".

Step 3: Click on the "Local Call No." link.

Step 4: Using the LOCAL CALL #, search for "equipment". You should see a browsing list of loanable equipment in the library.

Choosing "Camcorder Set", for example, will give you a complete list of loanable camcorders.

Please note that the CALL NO. column includes the specific patrons (Art, Comm Arts, Faculty, General Campus) to whom the equipment may be loaned.

Clicking on the "View additional copies or search for a specific volume/copy" bar will show all of the camcorders on one screen.

Step 5: Check the STATUS of the desired equipment item and click on "Book This Material". You will be taken to an authentication screen.
Enter your Name and Allegheny ID# where indicated, and click on "SUBMIT".

PLEASE NOTE: Your ID# must be entered as a 7 digit number. If you have an ID with 6 digits or less, simply insert zeroes before your ID number.

Step 6: Choose a beginning date (Begin:) for your loan, and click on "SUBMIT".

Step 7: Click on the circle to the left of desired equipment in the "Mark" column.

 

Step 8: After choosing the equipment, scroll to the bottom of the page.
Choose an ending date (End:) for your loan. Add a note if desired, and click on "SUBMIT".

PLEASE NOTE: Items will not book for longer than the maximum loan period.

Step 9: You should receive a confirmation message for a successful booking. Finish the individual booking by clicking on "OK".
