MEADVILLE, Pa. – Feb. 20, 2009 – Fiction writer Katherine Min will read from her work at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 in the Tillotson Room of Allegheny College's Tippie Alumni Center at Cochran Hall. The program, which is free and open to the public, is part of the college's Single Voice Reading Series.
Min's debut novel, “Secondhand World,” was a finalist for the PEN/Bingham Award and was also selected as one of the best books of 2006 by School Library Journal. Her short stories have appeared in TriQuarterly, Ploughshares, The Threepenny Review, Prairie Schooner and elsewhere. She teaches at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and the Iowa Summer Writing Festival.
The series will conclude with readings by Mark Doty and Paul Lisicky on April 14.
