MEADVILLE, PA – Feb. 28, 2006 – Religious Awareness Week, March 5-11, at Allegheny College will celebrate the theme “Many Faiths: One Community.” All events are free and open to the public.
Events scheduled for the week include:
· Ecumenical Chapel Service—Sunday, March 5 at 10:45 a.m. in Ford Chapel.
· Roman Catholic Mass—Sunday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Ford Chapel.
· Movie Night: “Keeping the Faith”—Monday, March 6 at 9 p.m. in rooms 301-302 of the Campus Center. Popcorn and beverage will be provided.
· Lunch Discussion: “Interfaith Families”—Tuesday, March 7 at 12:15 p.m. in the Ford Chapel Oratory. Panel members include Jim Fitch, Sharon Wesoky and Sarah Roncolato. Lunch will be provided.
· Lunch Discussion: “The DaVinci Code”—Wednesday, March 8 at 12:15 p.m. in rooms 301-302 of the Campus Center. Moderated by Jane Ellen Nickell and Glenn Holland. Lunch will be provided.
· Lunch Discussion: “Cartoons of Muhammad in the News”—Thursday, March 9 at 12:15 p.m. in room 301 of the Campus Center. Moderated by the Islamic Awareness Society. Lunch will be provided.
· Talk by Amy Welborn, author of “Decoding DaVinci” –Thursday, March 9 at 7 p.m. in Ford Chapel. Sponsored by Allegheny Newman.
· Shabbat Service, led by Hillel members—Friday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, 379 Park Avenue.
· Ice Cream Fridaes—Friday, March 10 at 9 p.m. in rooms 301-302 of the Campus Center. Board games and ice cream sundaes.
· Comedy Duo of Rabbi Bob Alper and Ahmed Ahmed—Saturday, March 11 at 8:30 p.m. in the Campus Center lobby. Sponsored by Hillel, GAP and IAS.
