10 Simple Ways You Can Help Get the Word Out
You don't need to wait for "the perfect opportunity" to talk up your school. Opportunities exist every day.
- Use the Allegheny desktop backgrounds on your computer at work, at home, or at school.
- Display copies of Allegheny magazine in your home or office. (Need extra copies? E-mail publications@allegheny.edu.)
- If you're interviewed by a newspaper or radio or TV station, find a way to mention that you're an Allegheny grad.
- Wear your Allegheny sweatshirt, T-shirt, or cap when you go to sports events or volunteer activities.
- Talk to your friends' and neighbors' children who may be looking for the college that is right for them. (But keep in mind that Allegheny isn't for everyone.)
- Let the admissions office know when you meet high school students for whom you think Allegheny would be a good fit.
- Use an Allegheny mug at your school or office. (Check out the bookstore's website.)
- Don't forget to put that Allegheny decal on the rear window of your car.
- Have a CD of the Allegheny Choir playing as background music when you entertain, or download an MP3 version of the Alma Mater (recorded in 1948!) and share it with your friends.
- Frame your diploma and hang it on the wall where everyone can see it.
