FRIDAY, MAY 14

1:00 - 5:00 p.m. - SENIOR PROJECTS EXHIBIT - Art Galleries, Doane Hall of Art, Campus Center
This show features work in a wide variety of media, produced by students for Art Department Senior Projects.

7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. - OPEN HOUSE RECEPTION at the President's house, 286 Jefferson Street. Drop by and visit with President Jim Mullen, his wife Mari, their daughter Franki and their son James.

SATURDAY, MAY 15

10:00 - 5:00 p.m. - SENIOR PROJECTS EXHIBIT - Art Galleries, Doane Hall of Art, Campus Center
The Art Galleries will be open again today to view the Senior Projects Exhibit.

10:00 a.m. - PHI BETA KAPPA INITIATION AND RECEPTION
Ford Memorial Chapel and Oratory

12:30 p.m. - BACCALAUREATE PREPARATION
All graduating seniors should report to the second floor in the Campus Center by 12:30 p.m. with cap and gown to line up for the Baccalaureate processional. Faculty marshals will give you instructions for the ceremony.

1:00 p.m. BACCALAUREATE - Raymond P. Shafer Auditorium, Campus Center
A procession of the graduating class, dressed in academic regalia, opens the first of the official Commencement Weekend ceremonies. A traditional event originating in colonial America, the Baccalaureate reflects the celebration of private and religious freedom in America. The Baccalaureate service welcomes the Allegheny College community in an ecumenical celebration let by the Rev. Jane Ellen Nickell, Chaplain of the College.

2:15 - 4:15 p.m. PRESIDENT'S RECEPTION - Pelletier Library
President James Mullen and Mari Mullen invite all graduates, families and guests to the Pelletier Library for light refreshments and an opportunity to greet friends.

5:00 p.m. CATHOLIC MASS - Ford Memorial Chapel

6:00 p.m. COMMENCEMENT DINNER (Reservations required) - Schultz Banquet Hall and Brooks Dining Hall

8:30 p.m. COMMENCEMENT CONCERT - Ford Memorial Chapel
After a busy day, a musical treat awaits graduates and guests.
(Open to all - tickets are not required.)

SUNDAY, MAY 16

6:30 - 10:00 a.m. CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST - Brooks Dining Hall
An assortment of Danish pastries, muffins, coffeecake, whole fruit, juice and coffee will be available for purchase.

7:15 a.m. (Sharp!) REHEARSAL FOR GRADUATES - Wise Center Performance Arena (rain or shine).
A mandatory meeting! Graduates, please arrive at 7:00 a.m. in academic gown to get your seating assignment, line up position and receive instructions in advance of the Commencement Ceremony. We allow just enough time to accomplish this process, and your cooperation is appreciated (and needed). Graduates are honored individually, and we want to be sure you receive the right diploma! You will proceed directly from rehearsal to the Commencement Ceremony site.

9:30 a.m. ACADEMIC PROCESSION - Brooks Walk (Rain Location - Wise Center)

9:30 a.m. COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY - Bentley Lawn
(Rain Location - Wise Center Sports Forum)
The formal graduation ceremony! A formal procession of students and faculty in academic regalia opens this traditional ceremony. A Presidential welcome and presentation of the honorary degree recipients and their remarks precede the conferring of degrees upon degree recipients. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Wise Center Sports Forum; closed circuit viewing will be set up in Raymond P. Shafer Auditorium. Even if the ceremony is held on Bentley Lawn, a closed circuit broadcast will be available in nearby Schultz Dining Hall for those who prefer to sit inside. Be prepared for any type of Meadville weather!

Noon - 1:30 ALL-COLLEGE DEPARTMENTAL RECEPTION - Location to be announced (Rain Location - Campus Center various location)
An opportunity for graduates to introduce their family to faculty and staff and to say goodbye to classmates in an informal relaxed atmosphere.
