
Gator Women Place Second at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Allegheny women's golf team shot 327 as a team while placing second out of nine squads competing at the Wilmington College Spring Invitational on Sunday.
Otterbein had three players shoot under 80 and totaled 308 strokes to win the team title. Behind the Gators were Washington & Jefferson (341), Wittenberg (350), and Baldwin-Wallace (353) rounding out the top five.
Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) shot a team-best 78 and finished in a tie for third place overall in the field. Kristi Archer (Aliquippa, Pa./Center) also placed in the top 10 with an 81 - good for seventh overall.
Julia Wears (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) and Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) rounded out the scoring for Allegheny with respective scores of 83 and 85. Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) finished fifth for Allegheny with an 86.
Competing as individuals, Laura Burkholder (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy) and Laura Hilger (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) shot 83 and 84, respectively.
The Gators now await the selections for the Division III National Championships held in Waverly, Iowa from May 13-16.
