Gator Women Finish Third at ONU Invite

ADA, Ohio - The Allegheny women's golf team shot 361 as a team on Saturday en route to placing third out of 16 teams at the Ohio Northern Invitational. The event was originally scheduled for two days but has been called after one round due to inclement weather.
Otterbein won the team title with a score of 350 while Franklin finished second at 356. Host Ohio Northern placed fourth behind the Gators at 366 with cold and windy conditions causing for high scores throughout the day.
For the Gators, Julia Wears (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy), Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East), and Laura Hilger (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) all shot 88. Reints (pictured right) was chosen to the all-tournament team for her efforts.
Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) and Kristi Archer (Aliquippa, Pa./Center) rounded out the scoring for the Gators at 97 and 98, respectively.
Four Gators competed as a "B" team with Laura Burkholder (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy) leading the way at 91. In addition, the freshman had the shot of the day with an ace on hole #4.
Courtney Klein (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk), Hannah Schonau-Taylor (Newport, Ore./Newport), and Katie Donaldson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) finished with respective scores of 95, 97, and 105.
The Gators return to action at the Wilmington Invitational next Sunday, April 20.
