Gator Women Seventh on Jekyll Island Day Two
Mar 22, 2008 JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The Allegheny women's golf team improved on its opening round 342 and shot 328 as a team during the second day of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Classic. Out of 26 teams competing, Allegheny currently sits in seventh place.
For the second straight day, Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) turned in the Gators' low round, scoring an 80 to follow up on her 82 from day one.
Jamie Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) and Kristi Archer (Aliquippa, Pa./Center) finished two strokes behind with 82s while Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) and Laura Hilger (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) rounded out the top five for the Blue and Gold with respective scores of 84 and 90.
Competing as individuals, Julia Wears (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) and Laura Burkholder (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy) recorded scores of 84 and 91, respectively.
Three of the six teams ahead of Allegheny are NAIA schools, so the Gators head into the final day in fourth place amongst NCAA institutions.
Day three tee-times are set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
