Gator Men Complete Day One at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The Allegheny men's golf team opened the 2008 spring campaign at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Classic on Friday and were led by junior Kyle Jastromb's (Kent, Ohio/Kent Roosevelt) score of 76.

As a team, the Gators shot 320 with Jastromb turning in one of his lower rounds of the season. Billy Wisniewski (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) had Allegheny's second lowest round of the day with an 80 while Christian Goetz (Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettstown Area) and Mike Wolfe (Erie, Pa./McDowell) each scored an 82. Kevin Day (Zelienopole, Pa./Seneca Valley) was Allegheny's fifth scorer with an 86.

Two golfers competed as individuals with Chris Moore (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) and Corey Shemelya (Freedom, Pa./Ambridge Area) totaling 84 and 89, respectively.

Allegheny continues action tomorrow with an 8:30 a.m. tee-time.
