Allegheny Gets Into the Win Column Against Bridgewater

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Sophomore Christina Zanic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) scored a career-high eight goals as the Allegheny lacrosse team (1-3) got its first win under first year head coach Paula Habel with an 18-17 victory over Bridgewater State on Monday evening.
In addition to Zanic's six goals, freshman Jensen Patterson (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School) and senior Ashley Hughes (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) added five and two scores, respectively.
Hughes and Meg Grossman (Lexington, Ky./Sayre School) led the Gators with four draw controls while Patterson added three. Kaitlan Biondi (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) recorded a team-high two ground balls.
Leslie Stange (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) recorded 17 saves while playing all 60 minutes in net.
The Gators wrap up their spring trip on Wednesday, March 19 against FDU-Florham. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
