Ball’s time of 4:23.78 is 23 seconds faster than his previous career best, and now gives Allegheny the top two milers in the conference along with teammate Tony Dipre who ran a school-record time of 4:19.16 in the opening meet of the season. Ball’s time is also just seven seconds away from the NCAA Division III Provisional qualifying mark in the event. Piispanen, a junior, ran a time of 2:00.53 in the 800, placing him 108th overall in the field of 189 runners, and finishing less than a second away from 12 other competitors. The final Gator to compete at the event was Ross, who placed 54th overall in the 5,000-meter run, running the 3.1 miles in a time of 15:05.62. The squad returns to action on Friday, February 15 when the team competes at the Kenyon Invite in Gambier, Ohio.
