Gator Women Place 8th at NCAC Relays

RESULTS

GRANVILLE, Ohio - With a limited number of athletes competing at the North Coast Athletic Conference relays, the Allegheny women's track and field team placed eighth on Saturday afternoon at Denison University. Senior Sarah Sammel (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bethel Park) had Allegheny’s top performance with a first-place finish in the pole vault (10-06.00).

The Gators also had a strong showing in the 5000-meter run, placing three individuals in the top 10 including Rachael Hutchinson (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin), Claire LeMasters (Shady Side, Ohio/St. John Central), and Lindsay Pugh (Natrona Heights, Pa./Highlands) with sixth, seventh, and 10th place showings respectively.

Jessica Pennisi (Milltown, N.J./East Brunswick) also placed in the pole vault top 10, finishing seventh with a jump of 7-06.50.

Ohio Wesleyan took first place overall, totaling 97 points, while Oberlin (82.50), Wooster (64.50), Earlham (44), and Denison (42.50) rounded out the top five.

Allegheny returns to action on Friday and Saturday, February 8-9 at the Boston University Valentine Invite.
