On the men’s side, Lawrence took first in the 100- and 200-yard freestyles, winning the shorter of the pair in a time of 49.78, and the longer in 1:50.07. The team of Monroy, Beau Whiteman (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek), Rob Schreiner (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Ashton Kinney (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) picked up the team’s final first-place finish, winning the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:33.38, while Whiteman took second in the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:07.80, finishing second to his brother Nick, an Edinboro swimmer. In addition to her top finish in the 50 freestyle, Whitehead took second in the 100 freestyle in a time of 55.88, and then teamed up with Katie Scherry (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River), Erin Ham (Franklin, Pa./Franklin Area) and Carolyn Nairn (Lubbock, Texas/Brownell-Talbot) to take second in the 200 Medley Relay. Ham followed up her relay finish by placing second in a pair of events, highlighted by a season-best time of 2:17.90 in the 200 individual medley, before touching the wall in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:30.83, just off of her season best in the event. Meg Hiestand (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) and Arielle Conti (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) each kept to the season’s best trend, the former in the 200 butterfly (2:17.86) and the latter in the 1,000 freestyle (11:10.01).
