Six Earn League Marks at Kent

KENT, Ohio – The Allegheny College Gators recorded six North Coast Athletic Conference Championship qualifying marks, giving them nine over the two days of the Kent State University Golden Flash Gala.
Emily Pfeufer (St. Mary’s, Pa./Elk County Catholic) placed 11th in the long jump, leaping to a distance of 16-8, and was the only Division III athlete in the top 18 overall. Pfeufer and Liz Straus (Kirtland, Ohio/Kirtland) met the NCAC standard in the high jump, with Straus leaping to a personal-best height of 5-0.25, with Pfeufer clearing 4-8.25.
Liz Earley (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township), after her qualifying mark in the weight throw the day before, took 17th in the shot put with a toss of 39-1.25, less than two feet off of her personal best.
Ogechi Nwokedi (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) took seventh in the 800-meter run, finishing the half-mile in a time of 2:22.92, with teammate Katie Stancik finishing close behind in a time of 2:27.34, just two tenths of a second from the league qualifying mark, while her time of 5:31.58 in the mile was four tenths from the league standard.
Rebecca Lendyak (Cowansville, Pa./Ford City) met the NCAC qualifying mark in the 200-meter run, crossing the finish line in a time of 27.78.
The Gators take a break for the Holidays, before taking to the track competitively on January 19 when the team travels to Fredonia, N.Y. to compete in the Fredonia State Invitational.
