Gator Men Fall at Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Allegheny men’s soccer team (10-5, 5-2 NCAC) allowed more than one goal in a game for the first time in over a month, as the Gators had their four-game win streak snapped at Wittenberg (11-3-2, 2-1-1 NCAC) on Saturday afternoon.
The game went scoreless until the 69th minute when Wittenberg’s Shane Price scored his first of two unassisted goals on the day. He would add another at the 82:26 mark to give the Tigers a 2-0 win.
Ryan Larkin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) was dealt the loss in goal despite stopping five shots while Ben McAnnis-Entenman picked up four saves in the shutout for Wittenberg.
Allegheny had difficulty generating any type of attack on offense, attempting only four shots compared to 17 by Wittenberg. The Tigers also held the edge in corner kicks, 7-4.
The Gators remain in solid position for a conference tournament berth and will look to rebound on Wednesday, October 24 with a game at Wooster. Action is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
