Box Score

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Allegheny women's soccer team (5-8-3, 3-3-1 NCAC) saw their recent two-game conference win streak snapped at the hands of 12th ranked (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Wittenberg (14-2-1, 5-0-1 NCAC) on Saturday morning.

Wittenberg broke a scoreless tie in the 56th minute of the second half when Amy Meige took a pass from Sydney Bates and knocked it by Gator goalie Rebecaa O'Shurak (Meadville, Pa./Meadville), giving the Tigers the eventual game-winner.

Despite the goal, O'Shurak totaled seven saves in net while Meghan O'Rourke stopped three shots for Wittenberg.

The Gators were outshot 16-5 and attempted only two corner kicks to Wittenberg’s seven. Jessica Heuer (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) was the only Allegheny player to attempt two shots.

Allegheny returns to action on Wednesday, October 24 with a non-conference matchup against Penn-State Behrend set to begin at 7:30 p.m. The Gators will look to remain in the hunt for a conference tournament berth on Saturday when they travel to Kenyon.
