Gators and Tartans Battle to Scoreless Tie
October 3, 2007
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - For the second time this season, the Allegheny women's soccer team (3-5-2) played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer, this time tying the Tartans of Carnegie Mellon (5-4-1) on Wednesday evening at Gesling Stadium.
Defense was dominant throughout the entire contest, as the Gators were only able to muster three shots while Carnegie Mellon attempted eight. Both goalies earned shutouts despite not seeing much come their way. Gator freshman Kelsie Mozzoni (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) recorded only one save while Carnegie Mellon's Anya Rosen had the luxury of not needing to stop a shot in the four periods of play.
The Gators get back into conference play on Saturday, hosting Ohio Wesleyan at Robertson Field in Meadville. Action is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
