Gator Women Fall To Otterbein
September 22, 2007
MEADVILLE, Pa. - Allegheny (2-5-1) was unable to build on a win earlier this week at Westminster, as the Gators fell by a score of 4-0 to visiting Otterbein (3-3-1) on Saturday.
Otterbein took control early in the contest and put immediate pressure on the Gator defense. The Cardinals got a pair of open looks at the net and cashed in on each with goals from Lindsey Rudibaugh at the 9:54 mark and Chanel Smith in the 15th minute. Otterbein would take the 2-0 advantage in to the half.
The Cardinals added two more scores in the second half and were able to withstand Allegheny’s offensive efforts the rest of the way.
Goalie Rebecca O’Shurak (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) came on in relief and picked up five saves for the Gators while Tara Cater stopped two shots in net for Otterbein.
The Gators look to rebound on Wednesday, when they open North Coast Athletic Conference play at Oberlin. The game is set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
