Pfeufer Takes 11th in Triple Jump

OSHKOSH, Wisc. – Fighting adverse weather conditions, Allegheny College junior Emily Pfeufer (St. Marys, Pa./Elk County Catholic) took 11th at the NCAA Division III National Meet in the triple jump.

Despite a constant downpour, Pfeufer leaped to a top distance of 37-feet, 2-inches, however failed to advance to the finals, falling under three inches short of a top-nine finish.

Alicia Watson of the City College of New York won the event, leaping to a distance of 39-10.75.

The 11th place finish ends a meet in which the junior competed in eight different events, doing the seven-event heptathlon on Thursday and Friday, and finished her weekend today with the triple jump.
