Trio Earn All-NCAC Honors
May 15, 2007 All-NCAC Teams
CLEVELAND – Three Allegheny College Gators, Ashley Hughes (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), Michelle Dudevoir (Westpoint, N.Y./O’Neill) and Meg Grossman (Lexington, Ky./Sayre School) have been named to one of three North Coast Athletic Conference teams announced on Tuesday, May 15.
Hughes, left, a junior attacker, earned First-Team honors for the third time in her career. She became the school’s all-time leader in assists during the season, while sitting within striking range of the top spot in career points (needs 16) and goals (needs 33). This season she led the team in goals (29), assists (12), total points (41) and draw controls (33), while finishing second in caused turnovers (12). Her 33 draw controls was the second highest single season total in school history while her 12 assists was the fifth highest and her 41 points in 2007 ranks eighth all-time at Allegheny.
Dudevoir, right, a senior attacker, earned a Second-Team award after being named Honorable Mention All-League last season. She finished the season second on the team in all three offensive categories, points (27), assists (9) and points (36). She also contributed double-figure statistics in groundballs (15), draw controls (19), and caused turnovers (10). She ends her career with the sixth highest assist totals (22), eighth most career points (90) and ninth most goals (68) in school history.
Grossman, left, a first-year midfielder, finished fifth on the team in scoring, putting in 16 goals and dishing out seven assists while playing in all 13 games during the year. She finished second on the team in ground balls with 29, while also grabbing 29 draw controls, tying for the fifth highest single season total in school history.
The Gators ended the 2007 season with a 4-9 overall record, while going 2-4 in league play, finishing fifth in the NCAC.
