![]() Gators Finish 11th at Division III Nationals May 11, 2007 Day 1 Recap | Day 2 Recap | Day 3 Recap HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – After beating just one team at last years’ NCAA Division III women’s golf championships, the Allegheny College Gators topped nine this season, placing 11th of 20 teams at the 2007 championships. Allegheny’s fourth day score of 348 was equal to their top round a season ago, but was the third best round this season. Allegheny, who shot rounds of 341, 358, 337 and 348 finished the tournament with a combined score of 1,384, totaling 216 strokes over par. Methodist, who has now won the last 10 Division III Championships, ran away with the event, shooting a combined 47-over par. DePauw, after placing third in the last two seasons, finally moved up a spot, taking second overall with a 135-over par score. Gustavus Adolphus took third overall, shooting a 150-over par score with Southwestern, the team the Gators beat last season, took fourth by shooting a score of 154-over par. Leading the way for the Gators on the final day was Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenview South), who placed 43rd overall by shooting a final day score of 85, giving her a total of 46 strokes over par for the tournament. Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) shot an 14-over par 87 for the round, and 45-over for the tournament, placing in a tie for 38th overall. Tying with Reints on the final day was Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) who also shot a 14-over 87, giving her a final total of 60-over par, placing in a tie for 60th overall. Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) was the final scorer for the Gators, carding a fourth-round total of 89, her second consecutive score in the 80’s. For her tournament, she shot a score of 84-over par. Rounding out the traveling five for the Gators was Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley), who rounded out her tournament by carding a 21-over 94, placing her in a tie for 79th overall.
