Place Leads Gators at Hillsdale Relays

HILLSDALE, Mich. – Three Allegheny runners, all running in the 5,000-meter run, competed at the 41st annual Hillsdale Gina Relays, led by Ryan Place (Meshoppen, Pa./Elk Lake) , who finished 23rd overall, with teammates Ben Mourer (Chicora, Pa./Karns City) and Ryan Hanson (Presto, Pa./Chartiers Valley) placing 41st and 106th, respectively in the deep field.

Place ran to a NCAA Division III Provisional time of 14:39.72, but finished behind his time ran at the Bucknell Invitational. Mourer ran a season-best time of 14:54.70, just off of the provisional mark. Hanson narrowly missed his season best in the 3.1-mile race, crossing the finish line in a time of 15:37.68.

The Gator team is also competing at the Baldwin-Wallace Invitational on Saturday, along with the North Coast Athletic Conference multi-event championships at Wittenberg on Saturday and Sunday.
