![]() Gators Jump to Third at Kutztown Apr 21, 2007 Combo Results | Individual Results KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team dropped its second-round score by 10 strokes from the first day at the Golden Bear Invitational hosted by Kutztown University at the Berkleigh Country Club, vaulting into third place behind a pair of NCAA Division I schools. The Gators carded a second-day total of 340 at the par-74, 5,827-yard course, for a combined score of 690 over the two days. St. Francis University (Pa.) and Lehigh University, both members of Division I, easily took the top two spots with team totals of 668 (339-329) and 674 (339-335), respectively, followed by Allegheny, Kutztown University (692), Muhlenberg College (766), and West Chester University (820). The Gators put a pair of golfers in the top 10, led by Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East), who carded an 82 on day two to finish all alone in seventh place with a total score of 168 (86-82). Junior Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) followed right behind with an 83 in the second round, dropping five strokes from the first day to earn a tie for ninth place with a score of 171 (88-83). Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) and Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) each matched Coleman’s improvement from the first day with rounds of 85 and 92, respectively, the former finishing 15th (175) and the latter placing in a tie for 27th (189). Rounding out the starting five was Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) who tied for 16th with a two-day total of 176 (86-90). Allegheny has one more stop on its schedule before a hopeful return to the NCAA Division III Championships. The Gators will aim for another high finish at the Washington & Jefferson College Invitational on Monday, April 30.
