Gators Fourth after Day One at Kutztown

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team currently sits in fourth place at the conclusion of the first day of the Golden Bear Invitational hosted by Kutztown University at the Berkleigh Country Club. The Gators carded a total score of 350 on the par-74, 5,827-yard course, currently 11 strokes off the lead.
Lehigh University and St. Francis University (Pa.) are the early leaders, carding identical totals of 339. Host Kutztown sits in third with 346, followed by Allegheny, Muhlenberg College (374), West Chester University (412) and McDaniel College (did not finish).
The sophomore duo of Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) and Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) led the way for the Gators with identical 86s to tie for 11th, the latter tallying a team-low 42 on the back nine. Junior Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) was just off the pace set by her teammates, recording an 88 to grab a tie for 16th.
Rounding out the starting five was Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) and Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) with rounds of 90 and 97, respectively.
The tournament concludes on Saturday, April 21.
