Gator Women Take Nazareth Tournament Title
Apr 14, 2007 ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team dominated the field at the Nazareth Tournament, winning the event by nearly 30 strokes en route to their second tournament title this year. Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South), Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) and Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) each finished in the top five.
The Gators accumulated 362 strokes on the day, 28 ahead of second place SUNY-Cortland. William Smith (410) and Nazareth (422) rounded out the teams in the tournament at the Mark Twain Golf Course.
Bruckner took second overall, carding an 86, while Coleman and Reints each brought an 88 into the clubhouse. Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) and Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) a 100 and 108, respectively, to finish fourth and fifth on the squad.
The next tournament for the Gators is on Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21 when the team travels to the Kutztown Invitational.
