Gator Women Compete at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Four Allegheny College track and field athletes competed at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic on Friday, April 13. Carley Latus (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon), Scarlett Graham (Farmington, N.Y./Uniontown), Michelle Corkum (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) and Mia Symoniak (Snyder, N.Y./Amherst Central) each met NCAC qualifying marks in their events.
Symoniak had the highest finish of the quartet, taking 12th place in the 10,000-meter run, finishing the 25-lap event in a time of 38:14.61 in her first time running the event.
Corkum took 32nd in the 5,000-meter run, finishing the 3.1-mile race in a time of 18:30.71.
Latus and Graham each competed in the 1,500-meter run, Latus leading the pair with a time of 5:00.60, placing 30th overall, while Graham crossed the tape in a time of 5:04.55, good for 36th place overall.
The remainder of the Gator team is competing on Saturday, April 14 at the Slippery Rock Invitational.
