Gators in Second at Gettysburg
Mar 31, 2007 GETTYSBURG, Pa. – In their second tournament of the spring season, the Allegheny College women's golf team is currently sitting in second place, trailing NCAA Division II Kutztown by five strokes heading into the final day of competition tomorrow at the Links of Gettysburg Golf Course.
The Gators scored a first-round score of 368, five strokes behind Kutztown’s 353. Washington & Jefferson trail the Gators with 377 points. McDaniel, Nazareth and Gettysburg round out the six teams in the field.
Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) paced the Gators with a first-round score of 85, while teammate Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) carded a 91 on the first day. Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) carded a 95 to take third on the squad while Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) and Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) carded a 97 and 99, respectively, on the difficult course.
The Gators continue their tournament tomorrow in Gettysburg, Pa.
