Allegheny Women 8th at Jekyll Island
Mar 24, 2007 JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – Amidst sunny skies and 70-degree weather, the Allegheny women’s golf team made the most of its first spring event of the season, carding a 350 on the first day of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Classic to put them in eighth place overall.
Sophomore Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Genbrook South) picked up right where she left off from the fall season, tallying a team-low round of 84 on the Oleander Golf Course to pace the Gators. Sophomore Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) and junior Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) were right behind with rounds of 87 and 88, respectively.
Rounding out Allegheny’s top five were Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) with a 91 and freshman Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) with a 97.
The three day Jekyll Island event continues on Saturday, March 24.
