Gators Run Away with Invitational Title

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team shot a season-low 330 at Allegheny College Invitational, hosted at The Country Club of Meadville on Tuesday afternoon. Sophomores Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) and Jaime Reints (St.Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) finished 1-2 on the day, carding a 77 and 78, respectively.

The Gators out-distanced Washington & Jefferson (346) and Gannon (356) for the team title, their first of the 2006-07 season.

Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) finished third on the Gator squad and fourth overall with an 85, while Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) rounded out the scoring four with a 90. Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) placed fifth for the Gators with a 95, while Kelly Dreher (Westlake, Ohio/Magnificat) and Katie Donaldson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) competed as individuals, carding scores of 104 and 113, respectively.

The next event for the Blue and Gold is on October 16-17 at the Rhodes Collegiate Classic in Tunica Resorts, Mississippi.
