Gator Women Thrive at Bucknell
Sep 30, 2006 LEWISBURG, Pa. – In a primarily NCAA Division I and II field, the Allegheny College women’s golf team is more than holding their own at the Bucknell Fall Classic. The Gators are currently in a tie for 12th place, just seven strokes out of the top 10 in the 17-team field.
Leading the way for the Blue and Gold was Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East), who is in a tie for 16th place overall after shooting a first-round 82, tied for her career low at Allegheny. Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) is tied for 30th overall after an 85, while Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenview South) is tied for 56th overall after shooting a first-round 89. Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) and Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill/Batavia) rounded out the top five, carding scores of 94 and 95, respectively.
The squad continues into the second day of the invitational tomorrow morning.
