Gator Women Take Eighth at Mercyhurst

ERIE, Pa. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team took eighth of 12 teams at the predominantly NCAA Division II field of the Mercyhurst Invitational. The Gators carded a second-day total of 366 in extremely windy conditions, after shooting a first-day total of 357 on Saturday.

Leading the way for the Blue and Gold was Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenview South), who carded a two-day total of 172 (84-88). Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) shot a 180 (89-91) while Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) was right behind with a 182 (91-91). Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) rounded out the scoring four in each of the two days with a final tally of 189 (93-96) while being tightly contested by teammate Kim Elam (Batavia, Ill./Batavia), who carded a two-day score of 192 (96-96).

The Gators next take to the course on Saturday and Sunday, September 30 and October 1, as the team travels to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, to compete in the Bucknell Invitational.
