 Allegheny Freshman named Scholar Athlete Jul 7, 2006
Torso, a biology major, ended the season as the team’s fifth person, shooting an average round of 95.83 over the course of 18 rounds. She shot a season-low 88 at the Eckerd College Invite, and shooting increasingly better scores at the 2006 NCAA Division III National Meet, shooting 100, 99, 96 and 91 over the four days of the event. As a team, the Gators placed ninth at the National Meet, and won six events during the year, the first year of program history, ending the year ranked 11th in Division III.

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny College freshman golfer Lauren Torso (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) has been named a 2005-06 National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Athlete.
