Place Takes 14th at Nationals May 27, 2006 Allegheny's Nationals Web Page
The sophomore was sitting in 10th place after a mile, running the first four laps in 4:51, while keeping his 10th place standing until just under halfway through the race. A 9:47 two-mile split saw him in 15th place, where he stayed until he was able to use a 14:57 three-mile time, and kick into the finish, pushing him into 14th place overall in a time of 15:30.42. The Gators ended the meet with two points, good for a tie for 59th in Division III.

LISLE, Ill. – In the final event of the 2006 National Meet for Allegheny College, sophomore Ryan Place (Meshoppen/Elk Lake) placed 14th among the top 5,000-meter runners in the country at the meet, hosted by Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.
