Pair of Gators Earn All-NCAC Honors

CLEVELAND – Two Allegheny College baseball players, the battery of pitcher Drew Scibetta (Glenshaw/Shaler Area) and catcher Zack Oblak (Harrison City/Penn Trafford), have been named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference team announced on Monday, May 15.
Scibetta (left) ended the season ranked sixth in NCAA Division III in strikeouts per nine innings with a ratio of 11.8, while finishing the year with a 5-5 record and a 4.18 earned run average. He finished the year with 79 strikeouts in 60.1 innings of work.
Oblak (right) played and started in 29 games during the year, finishing his senior season with a .309 batting average. He drove in 14 runs, hitting one home run and three doubles on the season. He crossed the plate 16 times, while catching a pitching staff that ended the season with 178 strikeouts.
The Gators ended the 2006 season on a high note, sweeping local foe Penn State Behrend 4-1 and 9-5, finishing the year with a 14-18 record.
