Lacrosse Closes Regular Season With Loss

FREDONIA, N.Y. - The Allegheny College women's lacrosse team (8-6) fell to the Fredonia Blue Devils (8-6) by a final of 9-5 today in non-conference action.
Ashley Rogerson (Fairfield, N.Y.) picked up two goals and an assist for Allegheny, with Emily Deering (Hollis, Maine/ Bonny Eagle), Laura Hoch (Moon Township/ Sewickley Academy), and Ashley Hughes (Wexford/ North Allegheny) picking up the other Gators scores.
Keeper Lesley Stange (Murrysville/ Franklin Regional) had 10 saves.
The score was 4-3 in favor of Fredonia at the half, and the Gators could not find a way to grab the lead after the break, surrendering another five goals and scoring just two in the final 30 minutes.
The game was head coach Lynn Zlotkowski’s first against her alma mater.
The Gators play again Friday, when they face the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops in the semifinals of the NCAC Tournament at 5:00 p.m. in Springfield, Ohio.
