Allegheny Women Place First at Gannon

ERIE, Pa. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team took their sixth first place finish of the scheduled portion of their inaugural season, taking first of two teams at the Gannon University Invitational.

The Gators defeated host Gannon 357-391 at the event, with the Gators taking the top two places, and placing six people in the top 10.

Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) carded an 84 on the day, earning medalist honors, while teammate Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) placed second, shooting an 85. Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) and Lauren Torso (Zelienople/Seneca Valley) placed fourth and sixth in the event for the Blue and Gold, shooting rounds of 93 and 95. Erin Winings (Rockford, Ohio/Parkway) was the fifth finisher for the Gators, shooting a 96, placing seventh, while Katie Donaldson (Pittsburgh/Keystone Oaks) and Jen Vota (Elizabeth/Elizabeth Forward) also golfed for the Gators, carding scores of 102 and 103, respectively.

The victory ends the regular season for the Gators, as the squad awaits their fate, hoping to earn one of 10 NCAA Championship bids.
