Apr 22, 2006 Results (PDF)
INDIANA, Pa. – Sophomore Elizabeth Earley’s (Venetia/ Peters Township) (right) throw of 156’11” in the hammer highlighted the Allegheny College women’s track and field team’s performances today at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Invitational. Earley’s first place toss betters her own school record, and moves her into fourteenth in Division III this season.
As a result of extremely rainy conditions in Indiana, Pennsylvania, the team did not compete in full force, but there were many other top performances by Gator athletes.
Four Gators met the NCAC qualifying time in the 1,500-meter run, led by junior Scarlett Graham’s (Farminton/ Uniontown) time of 4:48.20. Graham placed third overall, and the time movers her six seconds closer to the NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 4:41.00. Not far behind were Molly McGravey (Orchard Park, N.Y.) in 4:54.89, Caroline LaRochelle (Meadville) in 4:56.12, and Eva Weyers (Delanson, N.Y./ Duanesburg) with a time of 5:02.20.
Other NCAC qualifying performances came from Kim Tranel (E. Dubuque, Ill./ Wahlert (IA)) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, having run to a time of 12:41.50, and McGravey in the 800-meter run, as she crossed the line in a time of 2:27.30.
Members of the team compete again next weekend at the Baldwin-Wallace Invitational, as well as at the NCAC Combined Events Championships.
