Werner Places Sixth in Javelin at Oregon

EUGENE, Oregon – At the University of Oregon Invitational, Allegheny College senior Vince Werner (Sheffield) placed sixth in the javelin, with a toss of 189-0, his second best throw of the 2006 season.

The event was the first of a two-day invitational at the legendary track and field institution. Of the eight throwers in his flight, he was the only Division III athlete, and placed ahead of two scholarship Division I throwers, and was just over seven feet away from placing third overall.

The team competes at the Indiana (Pa.) Invitational on Saturday, April 22.
