Allegheny Women Take Title at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Led by the top three finishers in the tournament, the Allegheny College Gators won their fifth event of the 2005-06 season, winning the title at the Westminster Invitational.

The Gators led the field with a 350, ahead of Malone, Westminster and Grove City.

Erin Winings (Rockford, Ohio/Parkway) was the individual medalist, shooting an 81, while teammates Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) and Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbook South) tied for second, shooting an 87. Lauren Torso (Zelienople/Seneca Valley) and Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) tied for sixth, shooting 95’s, giving the Gators five of the top seven placers in the event. Also golfing for the Blue and Gold were Katie Donaldson (Pittsburgh/Keystone Oaks), who shot a 108, and Jen Vota (Elizabeth/Elizabeth Forward), who shot a 122.

The Gators take a week off before traveling to Erie, Pa. to compete in the Gannon Invitational on April 25.
