Gators Set Bests at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – A handful of members of the Allegheny College women’s track and field team were on hand tonight at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. A meet with stringent qualifying standards and predominantly Division I and II entrants, it brought out great performances from the Gators.
Junior Scarlett Graham’s (Farmington/ Uniontown) (right) performance in the 5,000-meter run was a personal best, as she went under 18 minutes for the first time with an effort of 17:58.21. Also running a best in the event was sophomore Eva Weyers (Delanson, N.Y./ Duanesburg), who crossed the line in 18:40.17.
Junior Michelle Corkum (McMurray/ Peters Township) and sophomore Molly McGravey (Orchard Park, N.Y.) were also able to put their best foot forward on the evening, Corkum running a best of 38:13.3 in the 10k and McGravey racing to the line in the 1,500-meter run in a personal record of 4:50.64.
Allegheny's Liz Earley (Venetia/ Peters Township) and Katie Pankowski (Pittsburgh/ Woodland Hills) were also in action. Earley placed ninth in the hammer throw with a mark of 149'0" while Pankowski threw the javelin 97'11", good for eighteenth.
