Gators Take Second at McDaniel Invite

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team took second at the McDaniel Invitational, falling to Division II Kutztown by a solitary stroke 713-714.

Kutztown’s 713 won the event, while Allegheny nipped at their heels with a 714. Gettysburg and Washington & Jefferson finished in a distant third and fourth, carding a 768 and 773, while host McDaniel shot an 804.

For the second straight day, Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) (right) and Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) tied for the team low, shooting an 87, while Erin Winings (Rockford, Ohio/Parkway) carded a second-day total of 89. Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) rounded out the scorers for the Gators, shooting a 90. Lauren Torso (Zelienople/Seneca Valley) and Jen Vota (Elizabeth/Elizabeth Forwarded) shot a 93 and a 106, respectively as additional players for the Blue and Gold.

The next event for the Blue and Gold is on Sunday and Monday, April 9 and 10, when the team travels to Westerville, Ohio, to take part in the Otterbein Invitational, hosted by nationally ranked Otterbein.
