In the women’s mile, Molly McGravey (Orchard Park, N.Y.) got one of her two third place finishes, crossing the line in a time of 5:29.40. McGravey’s other third place effort came in the 1,000-meter run, as she led the Gators with a time of 3:13.70. In the 800-meter run Rashelle Glass (New Castle/ Shenango) placed first, running a time of 2:28.15. Rounding out the top running efforts was Aaron Rape (Zelienople/ Freedom Area), who had a 300-meter time of 36.89, finishing second.

“I was impressed by the number of quality performances tonight, especially considering that we had only four days of practice to prepare for the meet since getting back from break,” said head coach Bill Ross. “Tonight gives us a good feeling about what is in store for the rest of the season.”

The Gators are in action again next weekend, as members of the team travel to the Penn State University National Open on Saturday, January 27 in hopes of hitting some national qualifying standards, and then the team heads to the NCAC Relays at Denison on Sunday, January 28.
