Gators Win Fourth Tournament of Fall Season

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Allegheny Gator women’s golf team continued its torrid start to the program, winning their fourth match of the season with a 20-stroke victory over the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson. The Gators used a four-person score of 366 to distance themselves from the Presidents, who shot a 386.
Leading the way for the Blue and Gold was Melanie Ice (Beaver Falls/Riverside), who placed second overall, shooting a 90, just one stroke behind medalist Allison Casoli of W&J. Erin Winings (Rockford, Ohio/Parkway) and Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) each placed in a tie for third place, shooting 91’s for the one-day event. Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) rounded out the scoring four for the Gators, shooting a 94 in eighth place overall. Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central) was the fifth person for the Gators and shot a 98, good for ninth place, while individual Lauren Torso (Zelienople/Seneca Valley) tied for sixth with a 93.
The Gators end their fall season with a trip to Mission Inn Resort, Florida, where they will test their skills among the nation’s elite at the NCAA Division III Preview meet on October 28 through the 30th.
