Gators Take Down Little Giants

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Three first half goals by the Allegheny College men’s soccer team were too much for the Little Giants of Wabash to recover from, as the Blue and Gold went on to win by a final of score of 4-0. The win takes Allegheny to 7-6-3 on the year and 5-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).

Alan Carr (Blairstown, N.J./ Blair Academy) continued his scoring kick today with two goals, the first coming just 12 minutes into the contest on an assist from Eric Sloan (Pittsburgh/ Mt. Lebanon). The goal would be the game-winner, Carr’s fourth of the year, as senior keeper Brian Manougian (Rye, N.H./ Portsmouth) kept the opposing offense scoreless for the fourth time this season.

Goal number two for the Gators came 17 minutes into the game, as Mark Dobish (New Wilmington/ Wilmington Area) scored his second goal of 2005 on an assist from Carr. The final goal of the first half came at the forty-three minute mark, as Chris Fedele (Williamsville, N.Y.) scored on a corner kick from Andrew Stutzman (Pittsburgh/ Upper St. Clair).

The fourth Gator goal came with just over thirty minutes to go, as Carr got his team-high tenth goal of the year, this time on an assist from Nathaniel Yates (Cleveland Heights, Ohio).

The Blue and Gold are on the road again on Tuesday, October 25, when they face the Wooster Fighting Scots in a 4:00 p.m. conference match-up.
