Women’s Golf Takes Ocean City Classic Title

BERLIN, Md. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team earned its third win in four invitationals this fall at the Ocean City Collegiate Classic, shooting a team score of 716 and defeating the closest competitor, Washington & Jefferson, by nearly 50 strokes.

Pacing the squad on the wet course was Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) who took medalist honors in shooting an 86 and 88 on back-to-back days, out scoring the second place finisher by three strokes. Erin Winings (Rockford, Ohio/Parkway) and Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) placed third and fourth, respectively, in the tournament, shooting a 180 and a 181. Rounding out the scoring four for the Blue and Gold was Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central), who shot a 183, good for seventh place overall. Melanie Ice (Beaver Falls/Riverside) and Lauren Torso (Zelienople/Seneca Valley) also competed at the event, shooting two-round scores of 190 and 205 each.

The Gators finish the fall season on October 28-30, when the team competes in the NCAA Preview Meet, hosted at Mission Inn Resort, Florida.
