Women’s Golf Takes Lead at Ocean City Classic

BERLIN, Md. – The Allegheny College women’s golf team took the round one lead at the Ocean City Collegiate Classic today after posting a score of 357. Twelve shots back of the Gators are the Presidents of Washington and Jefferson, while Gettysburg sits in third of four teams at 419 strokes.

Leading the way for the Blue and Gold was Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./ Glenbrook South), who fired an 86. Just behind Bruckner was Erin Winings (Rockford, Ohio/ Parkway), who shot 87. Three Gators had rounds in the 90s, as Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./ St. Charles East) shot a 90, Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./ Frontier Central) had a 94, and Melanie Ice (Beaver Falls/ Riverside) came in with a round of 99. Lauren Torso (Zelienople/ Seneca Valley) was out on the course as an extra for the Gators, and she pulled off a round of 101.

The Gators tee off again tomorrow, October 16, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., as they look for their third invitational win of the fall season.
