Allegheny Shuts Out Kenyon 2-0

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny College men’s soccer team defeated Kenyon (Ohio) College 2-0, improving its overall record to 5-4-3, 3-1 in conference play.
The Gators took the lead early as junior Alan Carr (Blairstown, N.J./ Blair Academy) scored just three minutes into the game on a pass from sophomore Andrew Stutzman (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Upper St. Clair). It was Carr’s seventh goal on the year and Stutzman’s second assist.
Allegheny maintained its advantage going into halftime. They controlled the paced of the half, dominating the shot count 6-1.
The Gators would add to their lead as junior Mark Dobish (New Wilmington, Pa./ Wilmington Area) found the back of the net in the 83rd minute of the game. Carr and sophomore Eric Sloan (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Mt. Lebanon) were credited with assists on the play.
Senior goalkeeper Brian Manougian (Rye, N.H./ Portsmouth) earned his second shut out of the year, making two saves in the game.
Allegheny has six more regular season games this year, five of which are conference contests. The next game comes on the road against Wittenberg on October 15, at 7:30 p.m.
