Women Golfers Continue Strong Start

FINDLEY LAKE, N.Y. – The incredible start for the Gator women’s golf team continued on Thursday evening, as the squad dominated the competition at the Penn State Behrend Invitational, held at Peek'n Peak in Findley Lake, New York.
The Gators shot an eye-popping 307 on the day, finishing 25 shots ahead of their closest competitor.
Leading the way for the Blue and Gold was Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./ Glenbrook South) who shot a 37 and 36 on the front and back nine respectively, for an overall score of 73, good for first in the tournament. Placing second for the Gators, and second overall, was Erin Winings (Rockford, Ohio/ Parkway), who shot back-to-back 38’s for a 76 as Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./ Frontier Central) shot a 77, good for third overall in the tournament. Melanie Ice (Beaver Falls/Riverside) shot an 81 while Jaime Reints (St. Charles Ill./ St. Charles East) came in at 84.
Finishing at 332 was Mercyhurst, followed by Gannon with a team score of 344, and Pitt-Bradford with 385.
The women head to the course again on Sunday, October 9, when they play in the Denison Invitational.
